Equally conversant in dealing with large multi million pound disputes on larger developments, claims between contractors or their employers and claims between adjoining home owners under the Party Wall, etc Act 1996.

After graduating with a degree in quantity surveying from Newcastle Upon Tyne Polytechnic (now known as Northumbria University) I became a professional quantity surveyor with reputable firms in the UK and in Malaysia, returning to the UK in 1999.

I formed George Cumming Associates in 1995 and this became a limited company in 2007.

I have a post-graduate Diploma in Arbitration from The College of Estate Management in Reading.

I am a member of the following professional bodies:

20 years ago I started to specialise in dispute resolution and dispute avoidance and this has been my main focus in recent years. I have also provided advice under the Party Wall, etc Act 1996 in order to prevent or resolve disputes between adjoining owners during development works.

I have also provided commercial support services to employers, contractors and sub-contractors in order to supplement their own resources in times of higher demand.

I have worked with Contractors, Specialist Sub-contractors, Quantity Surveyors, Employers, Engineers, Architects and Project Managers and I am able to manage and resolve complex issues arising prior to, during or after construction and engineering works. I specialise in the resolution of disputes through informal means. However if formal action does become necessary I am experienced in the preparation of documentation in pursuing or defending actions through adjudication, arbitration and litigation.
